Istorija radio-kluba „Toplica“ YU1AES započinje davne 1966. kada je jedan entuzijast i zaljubljenik u radio-amaterizam osnovao radio-klub. Njegovo ime je Tomo Nešković YU1GA i on je zaslužan što se od 1. novembra 1966. pa sve do današnjih dana ljubav prema radio tehnici sa starijih generacija širila na mnoge generacije učenika, studenata i svih zainteresovanih za ovaj hobi. Polaznici kurseva, kasnije članovi samog radio-kluba su svoju želju za znanjem i druženjem širili na radio talasima, razmenjujući QSO, uz poštovanje svetskog radio-amaterskog kodeksa, sa radio-amaterima iz okruženja, Evrope i sveta.
